Some of the first questions
parents ask us towards the end of our classes is
"What do I do
if our childcare providers don't sign?" and
"Do you know of
child care centres who sign with the children in their care?"
Child care providers, as well, are learning about the benefits of
signing with the children. WeeHands find a class
help child care educators learn how, what and when to sign with
children in their care. Training for your child care staff can be
arranged at your facility or school.
The benefits of using
sign language in child care centres include:
-
- Reduces tears,
tantrums and other challenging behaviours
-
- Supports language
and cognitive development
-
- Builds trust between
babies and educators
-
- Promotes positive
emotional development
-
- Provides a common
language for educators, babies and parents in bilingual settings
Qualified WeeHands
